A good value for a quick lunch or dinner compared to the many Deauville traditional restaurants. Dense seating but not filled. Decor is movie posters on concrete walls.
We found Chez Bertella having walked past the previous evening. Great, varied menu including pizza, pasta, grills etc. We went for the Italian burgers which were served in pizza dough buns, they were awesome. Simple but effective children’s menu too which our 7 yr old loved. House wine great value and very good. Decor in particular stood out, we had a beer bottle top table. There were tractor tables, Vespa tables and lots of cinema memorabilia all over the place. Service friendly and efficient and definitely somewhere we would revisit and recommend.
We'd just arrived on holiday in deauville and whilst exploring on our first day came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try on the evening. When we arrived it was crowded and we were fortunate to be able to get the only vacant table (not the Massey Ferguson tractor table to my son's disappointment). We were served quickly and ordered pasta, pizza and 2 house specials (aubergine parmagiana and the Normandy cheese and potato dish). They were all delicious and served nicely. The atmosphere was great friendly, cosy and lively. And we enjoyed looking at all the posters on the walls and discussing the actors and the films. A great find and not too pricey.
We ate at Chez Bertella this evening and, whilst the excellent waitress worked hard attending to our table and the very few other customers, the three underworked and idle kitchen chefs hovered over the counter in a manner that was both uncomfortable for us and was, I felt, intimidating for the hard working waitress. The food was nice enough but the tip we gave to the waitress was passed immediately over to the three chefs who seemed to devour it like vultures. An unpleasant experience and I would not recommend.
We ate here on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon, we actually felt sorry for the guy behind the counter all by himself when we walked in as there were no customers in the restaurant... Anyway a chicken pizza and a beer for myself, and pizza vegetarian and water for my wife. The pizza was actually pretty decent, I asked for a egg on top of mine, which was done So two good pizzas, a beer and a bottle of water later, all for 33€, Quick and cheerful, even though we were the only clients, Recommended
