We had placed our orders and received soup and salad but nothing else for a long time. Our server provided no updates until about an hour after seating. A member from my group became overheated and fainted. We ended up having to leave at that time. No idea on how long it took for the chef to come cook for the remaining parties at the table.
It pains me to leave such a negative review for a restaurant that has been such a staple in my life since I was a little girl. I’ve been eating here for over 30 years. Overall, maybe it’s just a service industry and the lack of quality and attention to detail that just really doesn’t exist anymore. Its very disappointing to receive three soups with no onion chips, which is standard yet, I have none. Moreover I’m looking at fried rice that has absolutely no sautéed vegetables in it when it is advertised. Instead I have garlic, buttered rice with chicken. I truly missed the days that you get what is advertised to you. It’s sad that you can’t even get what you’ve paid for. It truly ruins the experience for real foodies. Please note that the TO Go experience at this restaurant doesn’t compare to dining in. Corners are clearly cut. I gave the service/atmosphere one star because I called to ask for extra onion chips and the young lady wanted me to call back and press 2 instead of transferring me. I explain to her that I already called in and pressed 2 at which point I was routed to a general call center who routed me to her. She reluctantly transferred me just for me to be hung up on. I gave up on the extra onion chips and said I’ll settle for the general amount but they didn’t even get that. By the way thank God I’m not allergic to shellfish. Please see the shrimp tale in my rice. I hope corporate sees this review ?.
The food was definitely not worth the price!! I ordered the steak and chicken combo whatever, and the steak looked like that shaved steak you get when you make Philly cheese steaks, and the chicken....we not even gonna talk about the chicken!!! It was A chicken tender...one tender!!! Not even a whole breast!!! For $40+ ... never again! And our cook/chef/whatever didn't clean our grill before he started cooking!!! I didn't even know it was supposed to happen until I saw two other cooks/chefs/whatever clean THEIR grill before they started cooking!!! Definitely giving this place ????
I loved the Benihana food, ambience, and staff. Antonio paid attention to my seafood allergy while he prepared our table meal for Kyndall's birthday party and made it a great success.
We've never had such an awful experience at a Beni Hana's, and we are regulars. We went to the Deerborn location because we were in town for my graduation. I chose Beni Hana's to have my celebration dinner. First off, it was so unbearably hot in there when they sat us down. We placed our order and my daughter had a drop of something on her lap. We noticed by looking up that there was gunk and condensation that would randomly leak. This happened to her 2 more times. She was wearing a lilac colored dress so it was extremely noticeable. While we we discussing letting our server know, a big drop landed on my husband's plate. When the server came back we told the server and she spoke to the manager. They moved us to another table. The manager came out and apologized and told us to bring the dry cleaning bill to him. I explained we lived in NM and we were just here for my graduation. He offered a free appetizer as a substitute. While our meal was being cooked, the amount of smoke lingering in the air along with the heat was so uncomfortable and unbearable. We couldn't even eat our food comfortably, we packed everything up and paid and left (even our table mates packed their items and left as well). I understand that the grills get hot and it's normal, but I don't think the air was working because the amount of smoke lingering combined with the heat was intolerable. So much for my celebratory dinner. Such a bad experience.
