Ponderosa Steakhouse - Dearborn Heights

The saying "Things are not always as they seem" truly applies to this restaurant. When our plane landed, we were on the lookout for somewhere to eat and stumbled upon this buffet. Initially, we had our doubts when we arrived; the place looked quite run-down both outside and inside. However, we were allowed to check out the buffet before paying, and the food looked appetizing, so we decided to give it a try. Fortunately, it wasn’t crowded, and the price for two adult buffets, including drinks, was quite reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant could definitely benefit from some fresh paint and new furniture—it feels stuck in the past. Still, if we're ever back in the area, we wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

It’s Ponderosa, and it’s really disappointing that so many locations in Michigan have shut down. For me, it brings back memories of comfort food from when I was in fifth grade. There was a Ponderosa next to the Catholic school I attended, and I used to go there almost every week. The salad bar is incredibly affordable, and the chicken wings taste just as great as I remember from my childhood. The recipes haven't changed a bit. While the food may not be the most remarkable in the world, it's definitely the best cheap food around until the all-you-can-eat options are gone. I'm glad to be here, and I hope that the next time I crave this comforting meal, the restaurant will still be open.

The chicken is amazing, and I really appreciate the three fresh dishes that are consistently prepared.

Food was pretty good I really love the salad bar of the crab salad is on point! The wings are a little too salty, but still good. They had ribs at the bar when I left, they were really good. Place is clean and super service! I definitely go back!

I liked it. I came in sceptical because of the reviews people gave but it wasn't bad. The food was good the wait staff was fine. There was some food when we came in that looked like it was sitting for awhile at the buffet but they replaced it when they got busy, more people showed up. I got the buffet it was good. But the one thing that was off putting was the ceiling and overall age of the building and stuff inside. The ceiling needs to be replaced it was not pretty and they need to update it. I remember going to ponderosa as a kid not this one) but it looked exactly how it did what like 10+ years ago inside. Same layout and everything. Other than that it was a great time and good food. Yes I would go back and eat there.
