Stockade - Deadwood

We stopped for lunch and returned later for some drinks. The food was excellent and the drinks were good. The only thing I would mention is that the place could use a bit of cleaning. The utensils were a bit dirty, but I suppose it is to be expected at a place that serves food and drinks. Overall, it is a great spot.

We had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. The outdoor deck was a lovely place to dine. The salads and sandwiches were delicious and the service was very friendly.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and good service, but the food was not worth the price. I would only come back for drinks downstairs. I suggest looking for dinner at a different place.

On this visit we also ate at 2 of DSC's top competitors, Jake's and Snitches and DSC wins hands down. The salmon was cooked perfectly, added au gratin potatoes, excellent soup and salad but maybe the highlight was the pheasant pasta. Over the top good. Big serving. Felt bad couldnt finish. Solid service from Troy. We almost didnt go because of sub-par dinners at the other 2 places but glad we did. We get to Deadwood about once a year and will continue to make DSC a stop.

Let’s face it, Deadwood is not the gastronomic center of the universe in South Dakota lol With that being said, DSC is about as good as it gets round here. Standard American food. The service is great, the place is as clean as an old place like this can be. The historical pictures on the wall are great if you have a minute to check them out. This is a great place to eat in Deadwood.
