Located in an old mill house next to one of the beautiful natural sources of Florida, this restaurant brings a special twist to your typical pancake breakfast. Simply select your toppings and your pages and before you know it, your food will be delivered to the table. Now the fun starts in the middle of the table is a grid plate that you will be able to cook your own pancakes on, adding so few or so many of the toppings you selected. Once cooked you can simply eat them or drop them with maple syrup, honey or even molasses. Our children have especially enjoyed pouring moulds on the grid. After breakfast, stay safe to enjoy some swimming in the crystal clear waters of spring, or a short walk to the historic fountain or youth. This stop is sure to have something for everyone!
This restaurant is a great place to come when you visit DeLeon Springs State Park! We had so much fun cooking our own breakfast. They cook the meat. You can add different toppings to your pancakes and they give you a pitcher of simple pancake battery and another with a 5-gras battery, both are very good!! We're definitely going back!
Great experience of making your own breakfast in a 1900s sugar mill! All you can eat pancakes, eggs and other items are charged extra per unit. Overall, it is worth the drive to the park :
Unique experience as you cook your own breakfast on a griddle at your table. You have to pay for admission into the park which adds $6.00 to the price you'll be paying for breakfast, if you don't intend on walking in the park. One thing I really dislike is that they automatically tack on 18% gratuity, even if the service is lacking. I ran out of tea twice and had to flag down a waitress both times for a refill. A tip of the customers choosing helps maintain the servers focus, in my opinion.
The pancake breakfast is amazing! My family used to go when we were kids, and it was really fun to take my kids. The wait staff were really nice, even though it is super busy. It 's all you can eat too, so if one type of pancake (they offer two types, a signature five grain whole wheat blend and a rich white blend) is more popular than another, they just bring more of whatever is out! They were nice about our kids, understanding about the kids and recommended you not get too much and pay for wasted toppings. My only complaint is that they are strict on rules but not universally. We had a party of 13, and we called ahead at 8 to let them know we had a big group coming at 9 (opening). They said over and over they don 't open until 9. Part of our group arrived at 8:50 and multiple tables were seated and already mid meal. They wouldn 't seat a partial group, so while we waited for the other car to arrive, another partial group arrived. They seated them with only 3 of their group and let them choose any table just as the rest of our group came in. Because they let the partial group sit anywhere, our group was seated in different rooms. Ten minutes later the remaining members sat down at the table next to us. It 's a very harried process. If you can get seated, then it 's enjoyable. We drove an hour with two cars with family visiting out of town to get there at opening to find they had been open clearly at 8:30. And then we did everything to sit together and it just wouldn 't happen. So be flexible, or go as a group of 2 at 8:30 if you want to be certain of anything.
