Dublin Pub - Dayton

It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy some drinks with friends. The service was good, while the food was just okay.

We visited the Oregon District Car Show before making our way to the St. Anne's German Fest. With such lovely weather, we decided to grab lunch at the Dublin Pub. It was a pleasant mid-70s summer day, making the patio an ideal spot to enjoy our meal. I started with a refreshing Guinness to go with some Jameson, a great pairing for some daytime drinking. We ordered a Reuben and Fish and Chips to refuel before heading to the festival, where we were on the hunt for a cool Stein!

The experience was mediocre, at best. I was surprised to see such a high rating of 4.5. I feel sorry for those who don’t understand flavorful food. It's hard to mess up a grilled cheese sandwich, yet they managed to do so. The fries had a very odd shape, and my Sprite tasted like it was running low on syrup. Overall, it just felt like a disappointing restaurant. The waiter was a bit awkward, but not in a bad way; he might just be new, so I won’t hold it against him. All in all, it wasn’t the best experience, and I’m sure I could find better food for less money elsewhere.

3 meals, two alcoholic drinks and 2 sprites $77.00. Reasonable prices. Friendly wait staff. Could have been a little cleaner, but reminded all of us of a hometown bar. Nothing overly Irish about it other than live music that started right before we left. Nothing spectacular about food but all three of us had basic bar food and we were right at the satisfaction level. Next time we’ll try some actual Irish dishes. Give them a try and don’t count them out because of this review. Parking: Parking lot is small and we saw restaurant workers using the lot taking up premium space. Their lot is small. It was full and only 9 tables with people sitting at them inside. Pay lot across street. Lot to the West has tow away signs plastered all over. Parking on the street is premium because of all the restaurants in area with no parking lots.

The place looks like it should be in the heart of Ireland. The huntsman sandwich is delishish. You can tell the cut of meat is fresh and pairs very well with the mustard and toppings. 10/10 would recommend!
