Kenefick Pit - Dayton

I wanted to try this place for a while. I have my chance today about a problem with the Cajuns. Had two slices of beef sandwiches, not as expensive as the Cajuns, and they were great. I'm glad to try something else next time.

These people have the best grill. We had some loaded backtators and they were excellent.

I ordered the stuffed chopped potato, all the way with Jalapenos. I also ordered the cut Brisket Sandwich, all the way. Very good aromas and excellent values. It is a short drive from Dayton, actually closer to the ride to Liberty. Outside the restaurant is clean and comfortable. Friendly people who only try to make a living sale best possible bbq. Very recommended!

Some of the best bbq I had in a good time. The brisket and sausage had wonderful taste. The sauce was a delicious balance between acid and sweetness with a light kick. I'm definitely back. You're just cash, but if you forget, there's an ATM in the gas station right next door.

Drove a bit sideways between Houston and New Orleans, but worth the stop to my first Texas BBQ (I'm not counting one time at a big chain in san Antonio decades ago. The smell of the pit hits you as soon as you open the rental car door...as well as the humidity and storm clouds in the distance. Went with a safe brisket plate order and great meat and phenomenal red beans and rice side. But the owner brought out a rib for me to try....and it went to another level! I've eaten many BBQ ribs, but this was the best ever! The meat was that perfect texture and smoke ring clear and sumptuous. But the rub texture I'd never had before. Sauce was well done too.
