I have always loved Indian food and this was one of the best Indian meals I have ever enjoyed. Every dish was so beautifully flavoured. If we didn't live 100 miles away I would be a regular visitor to the White Hart.
We were staying in the area and had read great reviews. We pre-booked, which was good because it is popular. We arrived to a warm welcome and were seated straightaway. Our drinks order was taken and brought promptly. Our food order was taken and again came out promptly. All fresh and tasty. We had lamb samosa, Amritsari fish pakora and poppadoms for starter. The fish was exceptional! For main one Biryani and one lamb chops with saag aloo naan. Again delicious, plate lickingly good! The only downside was the lack of dessert options. Just ice cream. So we called it an early night to have dessert back at our hotel. That said I would highly recommend, the atmosphere is friendly food delicious.
So, 3 Scotsmen walk into an English pub a couple of hours before England kick off.... No, it's not the start of a joke, and nor is the White Hart ! We did not have a booking but got a large table for the 3 of us close to the TV. The beer was excellent with a couple of well kept real ales and plenty of choice for kegged beer. I would also add it's cheaper than Glasgow prices. We ordered food got to say it was a real highlight. I had the samosas for a starter/side dish. Great price and a big portion. 2 good sized samosas which tasted amazing. I had the lamb madras. I thought the price was on the high side compared to Glasgow about £15 until the food actually arrived. A large metal bowl filled with my choice. The lamb was succulent, melt in mouth perfection and there was plenty of it. The taste was out of this world and was obviously made fresh and with quality ingredients by someone who knows how to cook at the highest level. The naan was large and tasty. I can assure you the main courses are real value for money. The owner and all staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. I would also add the customers were the same. Really great place to visit if you are in the area. I am hoping my work sends me back down that way soon I'll be back to the White Hart any time I can.
Great pub and atmosphere. We had a fabulous curry there too which was delicious. Friendly staff who were very attentive. Would highly recommend. Look forward to our next visit.
