Unfortunately I can't comment on the food because we didn't get any. We patently waited over 50 minutes for our order to arrive. Not once during that time were we informed by the staff of any delay. No explanation, let alone an apology, was forthcoming. It's as if we were invisible. The worse service I have ever encountered. We decided pay the unfriendly barman for our drinks, advised him we were leaving and why still no apology so we left.
We stayed at this restaurant for one night while attending a festival at Kelmarsh Estate, just a short drive away. Our room was clean with a private bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. We decided to try the evening meal at the pub. My partner enjoyed garlic mushrooms for a starter and Chicken Schnitzel for the main course, while I had battered halloumi and sea bass. Both dishes were well-prepared and tasty. The service from our waitress was friendly, and the meals were good value for money. We also booked breakfast for the next morning at £15 per person. We were slightly disappointed with the breakfast as it only included one slice of toast per plate and no fruit juices. We felt that £15 was a bit steep for what was offered, especially considering the quality of our evening meals. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would consider returning, as we heard there are good walking opportunities in the area. Thank you.
The food was good but at least 6 of our party (group of 18) were overcharged! The owner was irritated and rude when we had to wait for latecomers. Food was a very long time after they arrived. Will not be going again.
Went here for Sunday dinner today. Really enjoyed it, a good amount, camenbert starter was fantastic, very garlicky. Highly recommended!
