Five Guys - Davenport

Five Guys is now my ?go to? burger joint. Been to several in Iowa and Georgia. Great staff, always cheery. Forget the garbage at those big chain places with Ms and weird clown kings etc. The burgers at 5G are freshly made on order, juicy and the customisable add-ons (mostly free) make a sensational burger. Buckets of fries might be salty (ask for light salt). These burgers can be a handful to eat while driving. Eat in or on their patio is a good idea !! Having been raised on full sized burgers in New Zealand and Australia these are close. If they offered chicken as an alternative that would be fantastic. Add and egg and/or pineapple slice and that would be heavenly !!

Burger was good, but fries were not crunchy. 2 burgers and 1 regular fry $30. Didn't feel like a good value. In fairness the high prices are likely due to current economic situation, however not sure I could justify going very often. Store has some indoor seating with a fair amount of outdoor seating. Not sure how well that works for Iowa weather?

Not sure what's going on with these places. They been stealin my frys. $7.50 for a large fry and they give me half of what they're suppose too. Then want a tip. Are the managers trying to save food cost or are they walking out the back door.

This place is filthy. Infested with fruit flies, they are literally everywhere. Went to dispense ketchup and they were coming out of that ketchup dispenser as well. Informed the manager and she totally blew us off. Said she can?t do anything to help the flies. They aren?t normal flies which we understand, they are fruit flies or gnats and the place is infested. They have to be in the kitchen as well. She said she would get the dispensers to the back and clean them out. We watched and she never did and watched numerous people use them. I will be calling the health department and not going back. Kind of hard to eat when your being attacked by gnats repeatedly.

This was my first time at Five Guys and I was impressed with the food. Great burgers and VERY generous portions of fries! My only negative is that it is quite pricey. $36 for 2 burgers, fries, and drinks. A single fry could be shared between 2 people in my opinion which would help the cost. Check it out if you?re on the fence!
