Gourmet Deli - DARWIN CITY

If staying in the Mantra, the Gourmet Deli is a great spot for breakfast. Great selection (the eggs are good) and the coffee is very nice.

I had the pleasure of visiting the gourmet Deli recently with a friend and found the experience very pleasant. We had a lunch there of chicken and salad and a hamburger and coffee. Great for a quick lunch as we had and a chat. Great venue, just a few minutes walk from the main city centre.

Problems:Table not level and not wiped down.Water jug empty. Confusing ordering arrangements, asked what I was ordering 3 times, each time referred to someone else.Fries heavily covered in rock salt. Small sandwich $15? What? Fries extra $3? What?Seating arrangement poorly configured. Benches under window noticeably awkard for guests. Good things: Sandwich quality pretty good. Wait staff congenial.

We ate here twice on our trip to Darwin, once for breakfast and once for lunch. The lunch stop was a quick bite before a trip setting off from the mantra pandanas next door, very handy if you arrive a little early for your pick up. The sandwiches are all freshly made from the deli fridge, all fresh ingredients and very tasty. There is seating indoors and outdoors and they do takeaway as well. The breakfast was equally satisfying. A good selection and they happily accommodate adjustments to their standard menu, and superb coffee! The Gourmet Deli opens early so if you are looking for an early breakfast spot in the CBD this is the ideal choice

I eat at alot of cafes in different States and this is by far THE BEST! Nothing is a trouble, everything is doable, the owner is sensational with people. Oh BTW the food is simply scrumptious!
