Dave Doolittle's Tap Room & Grill

I have lived in the area for over 50 years, and finally went to Dave Doolittles for a meal. After trying another place only to discover an hour wait at least we decided to go here instead. The bar itself was busy, but there were seats available. We decided to go outside to their patio. The menu is quite extensive with many choices. Most of us decided to go with the daily special a steak with fries. The meal was actually quite good with the steak cooked as I asked, and the fries seemed to be homemade, and were also good. My wife had a Louisiana chicken sandwich and she also enjoyed that. Service was good, but a bit confusing with options. Although there were four of us, we were given three "Handy Wipes" and two extra plates for wing bones although we did not order wings. I was a little disappointed in the selection of beer, as there were no local craft beer available. They have a "Doolittle's Ale" but on asking what it was I was told it was just Molson's Canadian - really?Overall, although the food was good, I was not that impressed with the place. It is a bit dark and dingy and could use some general maintenance.

Food was good, coffee was good but had a lot of coffee grounds in it and on the cup which the server noticed but instead of just getting me a new coffee he asked me to let him know if it was too full of grounds to drink it. When you go here for a buffet make sure you wait for the server to bring you a ticket to give to the buffet line person. This was my first time and just went right to the buffet after ordering my drink and was told I had to get a ticket. It's not posted anywhere. Not really a friendly feel for a family to take your kid for brunch but it's a bar so to be expected I guess.

This place was recommended by a colleague. First impression - a dive in the truest sense. Place was dark and dingy - inside and out. Empty except a few old guys at the bar. Seated myself and was almost ready to leave when someone came to wait on me. Pepsi was served by someone from the bar, who wanted immediate payment, ordered steak special and wings since tonight is wing night. Not sure I would call them giant, but they were good, once I got past the hair on the side of the plate. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and smothered in honey garlic sauce. Steak portion was good, nice and tender, but very greasy. Had to use my napkin to get some of the grease off the plate. Steak was overdone, fries were crisp but average, veggies were soggy and coleslaw had an odd taste. I might go again if I had a craving for good wings. Will go elsewhere for my steaks.

Attended a birthday party there, pretty much had opportunity to try a lot of the menu by sampling others meals. Let me begin by saying the the picture posted above looks nothing like the inside of this bar. It was older, dated and very dark. Bathrooms were dated, but clean. The staff was very good. Attentive, fairly fast and courteous. The food however was a disappointment to most everyone I spoke with. I ordered the Donair burger and fries. It was a frozen beef patty with donair spice on it, and store bought sauce. The fries were short. My longest one was about two inches long and overcooked. First I thought it was the last of the bag, until a friend got the same meal several hours later and I saw her vertically challenged fries. Two of my friends also ordered the twin steaks with Ceasar salad. Both found the steak to be tough, and the salad to not be fresh. Nachos were lacking toppings, very little cheese and were missing the jalapeños we ordered on the side.Overall the evening was successful, just found the food not up to what we expected

I have visited this restaurant several times, a little to the tavern side less of a restaurant, Somewhat dark, dingy, food is decent and affordable, loud at times, Service is midrange . Not as acceptable for families, Auctions hosted on weekends at times during the afternoon
