The menu has so much choice, it was difficult to decide what to go for. I have tried the three little pigs and the pesto and goats cheese pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. It's almost like being back in Italy. The restaurant itself is warm and cosy. A lovely little gem in Darlington. Highly recommended!
Took the family in on a Thursday evening for a meal, booked 6pm, had 2 messages asking if we were definitely coming at 6pm which we confirmed and then we arrived at 6pm and our order was taken within 15 mins of arrival. The food arrived over 1 hour later which l believe is too long. Cannot fault the food or the pleasantness of the staff and the rating reflects the long time we had to wait for the food…..and as it turns out the bill!
Fantastically priced pizzeria and enoteca ! First visit to Darlington and found the best pizzeria in the entire UK! Also incredibly friendly and welcoming and very helpful with dietary requirements ! They even sold and served our favourite Italian white wine Vernaccia di San Gimignano!! Wonderful Sicilian orange cake and homemade gelato too! Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Darlington!!
What a fabulous restaurant serving really great pizzas. Great service despite being a party of 12, nobody was left for long without a pizza. What a range of pizzas they have including Marmite pizza. I’ve eaten pizza in Naples and these are some of the best pizzas I’ve tasted. Thank you for a lovely night!
Really poor experience here. We arrived early for our booking and were seated upstairs. We were given the menus and it was 15 mins before anyone took our drinks. We said we were ready to our food at the same time and the girl said she’d let her colleague know. The same girl came back 10 mins later to take our food order which we found a little odd. Again, sat and waited for our drinks for a further 15 mins. I wouldn’t say they were rushed off their feet and we noticed other people were waiting a while for their drinks and food. Our starter arrived 45 minutes later which was delicious (Nduja sharer starter). Our mains then didn’t arrive for a further 50 minutes. The serving staff seemed very absent as to avoid being asked why the food was so late and we were now sat with empty drinks (as were quite a few tables) An hour and 40 minutes since sitting down at our table our mains two pizzas and chips arrived. They apologised for the wait saying the owner had taken one of the waitresses to hospital and it had affected everything. A very unfortunate scenario but if your restaurant can’t function without the owner and one serving staff there’s something fundamentally wrong! I’d love to be able to say the mains were worth the wait but the pizzas were soggy and did not live up to the expectations set by previous reviewers. Also the serving size of the chips for £4.50 each was shocking! You got about 12 chips in a little tapas dish. As we were leaving we got chatting to another couple who had experienced the same long waiting times and seemed just as irritated. Our first and last visit here and certainly won’t be raving about it back at Newcastle.
