Onde - Darlinghurst

The food was good but the wine was very expensive. No BYO. Wouldn't recommend this place. The waiter was very disappointed, when we paid our bill in full: " I regret our service wasn't appreciated" he said, after the transaction, wich didn't include the tip. No repeat business from us.

(2015) Had a perfectly nice grilled chicken and my friend thought his duck was divine. A lovely salad. It was a quiet night so no problems with noise or crowds. A good solid meal. This place has been turning out great food for many years. A more recent meal (2017), I had these fabulous beef cheeks (as onion soup and a really good bottle of pinot noir...). For a casual bite with simple, delicious food, Onde fit the criteria perfectly. Onde is great value for money, with a lovely venue and friendly staff. I even surprised myself and ordered my food at Onde in French! If anyone is interested in gaining the confidence to do the same, I really recommend this French school: bit.ly/frenchclassez, their classes were relaxed and provided me with lots of useful language skills!

Came here a few months back with a big group of friends for a bday dinner. We arrived a little bit late, but from the start, I had a bad impression of this place. The staff was very abrupt, rude and condescending. A few of us had to speak up at different times during the meal about the way they were speaking to our group. We were very quick to order as they kept asking whether we were ready and weren't even given any time to settle in. Once we ordered the food came out at lighting speed and empty plates taken away just as quickly. The mains soon followed and a few in the group were disappointed as their dishes were made so carelessly. A few dishes were raw on the inside. We didn't even bother to get the meals replaced. After our meal we left quickly, very unsatisfied with the whole experience. For the location, price and the cuisine they offered it was just not worth it. I would never go back or suggest this restaurant to anyone.

Bad Service Extremely rushed!!!!!!!!! Pressure put on all of us to order!!!! And in a rude way! Food was cold and tasteless. Small portions, overly priced! Defo not French food!
