Perhaps it is another covid supply chain workforce disruption casualty. Read the positive reviews (from years past) and decided to wait in the 20 person line at 5pm on a weekday rather than hiking over to Terminal B for what I know is a solid slice. Got to the front of the line only to be informed that a stack of already made cheese or sausage pizza were my only options. I opted for cheese and was pretty disappointed. Worst pizza ever? No. Should I have hiked to the other terminal? Yep.
This was the best airport pizza I've ever had! I arrived in Philly around 7ish so it wasn't crazy busy but since my gate was way out at the end of Terminal A I figured I would grab something to eat nearby. I saw a few people with boxes and thought pizza sounded good. I'm from NY, so like most New Yorkers I think I know a thing or two about pizza. (Haha) I asked if the dough was fresh and the woman ringing me out said yes. I didn't see a traditional cheese pep pie but you can add whatever you'd like so I went with cheese, pepperoni and mushroom. The mushrooms were a mix too, so that was interesting. I paid and scooted over to the restroom to wash my hands and fill up my water bottle. When I came back, no more than 5-10min or so, my wood fired pizza was ready. I added a couple shakes of the hot pepper flakes, parsley and Romano cheese and the combo of the 3 were the perfect addition to my little personal pan pizza, if it came in a pan. It was cut into 6 slices and although it was a thin pizza, the cheese was very good and the toppings were cooked to perfection. The employees were wearing masks and gloves and there with plenty of signage about social distancing. They also gave out a generous amount of napkins which was nice!
Had a chicken parmigiana from here. Ended up vomiting a few hours later.
I was flying through Philly and happened to be here around 6 PM in terminal A. There aren't many choices in this area and fewer once 6 rolls around. Apparently everything starts closing early. I had high hopes for my pizza. They do offer wood fired pizza. As i had a long plane ride ahead of me to Europe I decided to get the meat pizza. Oddly it said it has meatballs and pepperoni and caramelized onions and peppers. I didn't have any pepperoni on mine just meatballs. The caramelized onions and peppers had a strange overly sweet connotation that made the pizza taste considerably worse than it should. Sweet and pizza don't go together in my book. The saving thing with the pizza was the crust which was pretty good and the cheese also decent. The pizza was $16 which really wasn't worth it. I would rate it at the bottom of pizza I have had and would advise to not get the meat pizza. I would just get the cheese pizza if I ate here again.
