This IS the original. Located just off of Passyunk on 20th and Jackson, this unassuming little corner bar has been serving up the best sandwiches in Philly since 1938! Skip the cheesesteaks (or do them on another day and get roast pork, roasted turkey, roast beef, or baked ham. The roast beef is the standard. It comes with aged provolone to give it that exyra flavor. Order it wet for a little less gravy or overboard for some extra gravy. Regardless, if you let it sit there while you admire it, it 's going to get soggy : Add some broccoli rabe toppers and some roasted peppers Italian hots to put it even more over the top! There 's horseradish and non-roasted hot pepper rings sitting on the bar, if that 's to your liking. Yuengling on tap is the perfect pairing.
