Joseph's Pizza - Darby Township

Went back to Joseph’s to give it another try since our last visit over a year ago. So, providing new pics and updated review to the one below the asterisks. Our waitress (Eryn) was very nice but not the most attentive. We ordered a Joseph’s Espresso Martini and a glass of Cabernet to start. Literally, took 10 minutes to get the drinks. Martini had too much simple syrup in it. We then ordered fries for an app. They were actually good and the high point of the meal. We then decided to keep it simple and ordered a regular red pizza. The menu states the pizza is cooked Well Done. It should more accurately state Really Well OverDone! Frankly, the pizza was dry and stiffer than the carry out box we put it in. I don’t see us going back anytime soon. Review from a year ago Heard Joseph’s changed owners so we figured we’d give it a try having been there many times before. Well, no improvements made to the place. Looks as exactly as it always has but lighting was slightly brighter making it easy to see the place too well. There was one notable change the pizza recipe. If you liked the old Joseph’s pizza recipe it’s gone. The replacement recipe is good but nothing to write home about. Long story short no reason to go back.

I got the meatball sub and a cantaloupe margarita. Really enjoyed the bar to myself. Food came fast and the bartender is sweet.

The 2 stars is for the extremely pleasant delivery guy. The gluten free pizza crust is by far the worse gluten free crust I’ve ever tasted. There was also about a table spoon of sauce on the pizza, which didn’t help the crust. They should seriously consider switching vendors or take it off the menu altogether. $7 for a half tray of fries is insane. Sadly, we won’t be be ordering from them again.

Joseph’s is the best pizza place in the greater philly area. Come in for a great meal, great atmosphere, and great service. Make sure you ask for Brynn as your waitress!
