Dagwood's Pub - Darby Township

This restaurant in the neighborhood is fantastic. The food is prepared with great care and is exceptionally delicious. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to make my mother comfortable, offering her a jacket when she was cold. As we left, the man outside with a remarkable hat struck up a conversation with us and gave my mother a flower. This place is a true class act. I highly recommend it and make sure to show your appreciation by dining here.

I recently returned to this restaurant after several years away due to moving. I went with a friend who had never been before. We were seated at a small table with two other small tables nearby. It was a bit cramped, but it was fine. The waiter was friendly and had a good attitude. The dinner was average to good. My friend ordered chicken parm and thought it tasted a bit strange. I had scallops, which were tasty, but the pasta sauce lingered with me all night. One thing that bothered me was when we went to pay the bill, we were informed that there was a four percent charge for using a credit card. I found this to be unacceptable. Regardless of how the restaurant feels about it, I believe it is wrong to spring this charge on customers after they have already dined. It's not so much about the money, but the principle of passing the cost onto the customer without prior warning. Overall, I wouldn't return to this restaurant unless the food was exceptional.
