It’s situated on the right side at the northern end of I-285, just a block off Winters Chapel Rd. The restaurant is a stand-alone building, separate from the shopping mall located behind it. The signage can be a bit tricky to spot, as it features the name in Korean with "Korean Restaurant" underneath. The street sign shows "Chodang," but it might be hard to read. Parking is available at the front of the building or along the right side. It's an ideal stop after a stroll down the street!
Wow! The food at Cho Dang Tofu is absolutely fantastic. I am completely in love with their soon dubu (tofu stew). Even a mediocre soon dubu isn’t bad in my book, but Cho Dang serves an outstanding version. It’s thick and rich, unlike the watery ones you find at some places. The banchan (side dishes) are also excellent, with a generous selection and plenty of refills offered. The prices are incredibly affordable, especially during lunch specials. They even provide free ice cream! The service is wonderful, and the staff seems genuinely happy to welcome Americans, which is a refreshing change from some places in BuHi. The decor has a rustic, hole-in-the-wall charm, but it’s very clean, and who cares about decoration when the food is this good? Highly recommended!
When the fragrant hot stone pot is set in front of you, it’s the perfect moment to crack an egg into the bubbling broth. I love all the side dishes that come with the meal, except for the cold noodles. My favorites include the kimchi, marinated fish with jalapeño, bean sprouts, and bok choy. Plus, you can choose between purple rice or regular rice, both of which are included with the meal and pair wonderfully with the soup—definitely go for the purple rice! Just be sure to eat it quickly, or it might stick to the bowl. To top off this amazing meal, they offer free self-serve coffee and soft serve ice cream...yes, I said FREE! The servers are always friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is open, comfortable, and relaxing. Overall, this place sets a high standard and is hard to beat!
MoGo! My Korean family that adopted me took me here before our exploration of Super H Mart and the Buford Highway Farmers market. This place was really good. The Banchan was really good and you have a lot. They had purple rice I've never seen before. I ordered the hot pot bulgogi and the broth was so tasteful and delicious. My mother got the hot tofu soup that was really good. I also tried the Galbi who was good, but I had better. The waitress was somehow neglected and the place is a bit expensive. Overall, if you go to Buford Hwy and see this place, I recommend eating here because the food is really good and really high quality.
Authentic and Reasonable Price. Always good service and great authentic food. We usually go on SUnday for lunch and always able to get a table with quick service. The wait staff are good at their jobs but don't be put off if they don't seem friendly. They are not rude either just don't go in expcting warm fuzzy love from them : Besides....it's all about the FOOD anyway!
