Beach has kids toys, sports equipment and great beach service. Rooms were stunning got upgraded to suite because of my diamond status. Overall great property would love too come back!!! Service is spotty some are great some couldBe improved. (They walked in on me in my room after just knocking once)
Hotel service not close to 5 star- prices are. Too many examples. Food not good at most spots. Pre cooked eggs at market for $17 sandwich. $30+ glass of scotch but no large cubes most the visit. Call any number and sit in hold while listening to a repeating ironic message telling you that they provide “5 star service”. Pause here…. If you are creating a message for people waiting on hold that touts 5 star service- wouldn’t you stop and say something isn’t right?? Beds not as comfortable as what exists in all Hamptons. Burger at pool bar cooked far beyond well done. Served with no condiments and then wait for them to dish out fancy little dishes of Kate up and mustard. Not impressive because when it gets there the foods been sitting for 4 -5 mins. Charge $30 for that. Honestly we worked hard to get off property for decent food. Oh, and the beach. OMG. That’s just sad and not much they can do but it is mostly a large pond of stagnant water which is partially being fed by some sort of drainage tunnel. They built a raised path you walk on for most the distance to the area where people sit the water but at the end of the walk you must wade through this nasty yellow smelly water. The chairs they give you are not close to comfortable and the towels they provide are small bath towels. Walk up from the beach and they don’t even have a place to wash off the sand or the nasty water we had to wade through to get back from the beach. This was definitely the most disappointing part but I was there 11 years ago when it was a St Regis which was much nicer. Not a lot they can do about Mother Nature and the beach but they could at least provide a wash down station like exists at most public beaches… Overall, disappointing and would not return. I’m told the Montage followed by the Ritz are the better places.
Upgraded rooms, wonderful amenities, top notch service. Multiple pools, tram to beach is so lovely and the restaurant by the water is delicious. This hotel is top notch and we love seeing all the dogs on property when we visit. Excited to book our next stay.Rooms: 5/5
Beautiful property but very poor customer service for what is supposed to be a 5 star resort. Here are the issues we encountered: My 20 year old son was harassed by security for walking in the public areas of the property at 11 pm at night. I understand the need to to stop him to ask him if he was a hotel guest and value safety and security, but the tone and way he was stopped was very unwelcoming. It started with a What are you doing? (not good evening excuse me and he had to repeat our room number and name multiple times, including spelling the 3 letter last name multiple times. It 's about tone and every individual should be approached politely and professionally. We asked for the sofabed to be made up as bed. They just put on a sheet with no comforter and left one chocolate (there are 3 of us in the room . Blond hair on the rug and bathroom floor and several dead bugs on the patio so room hadn 't been cleaned well (we 're all brunettes . AC was broken. Engineering came to fix it but it surprised me that housekeeping didn 't notice that the room was warm and muggy. When we checked out, the pool restaurant charge hadn 't posted. The front desk assured us that the remainder of our $50 Diamond food and beverage credit would be applied to the charge but it wasn 't. I have called the resort no less than 5 times to get it rectified each time, I 've been told that the front desk isn 't available to help because it too close to check in, too close to check out, too early, too late, etc. It must be the time of year but you have to wade through murky water to get to the sandy part of the beach with the chairs. Depending on where you cross, it is 6 inches to several feet deep. It seems unsanitary and there are no foot or other showers within sight. We had a free night certificate and decided to do a staycation. Valet parking was $70, which seems really high. I would never pay the close to $1000/night it often is. The service and property isn 't worth it. As Diamond members, we 've stayed at many Waldorf Astorias and Hilton resorts and this one isn 't worth it.
We were there for a wedding. The service was great. The environment is very magnificent. They charge $35 for valet parking for wedding guests. There should have been a discount for wedding guests. The hotel has made a lot of money from the wedding.Service: 5/5
