It is a popular spot to kick off the night in Damascus, which can often turn into a late one. You can indulge in delicious food well into the night at this establishment. Syrians, much like Latinos, are known for their nightlife habits, enjoying the company of friends and family late into the evening. This lively spirit is reflected in their homes, clothing, and personalities. The Jabri is a great place to dine and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Their hummus and falafel are especially tasty (make sure to try the salsa that comes with it). I have also had the best hookah of my life at this place.
El Jabri is always filled with young Syrians drinking tea, coffee, and juice, and smoking hookah. It is the usual place to start the night in Damascus (which can be long) and you can enjoy their delicious food until well past midnight. Syrians, like Latinos, are night owls, they live a lot when the sun sets, with their friends, with their family. Their lives are always more behind closed doors. This is reflected in their homes (from the outside they seem tiny and dark, no windows facing the outside), in their clothing (veils are removed as soon as you enter the house) and in their character (always welcoming). Another fantastic place to eat and spend time enjoying the lively atmosphere. Especially delicious is their hummus and falafel (I recommend asking for the accompanying sauce). In this place, I tried the best hookah of my life...
