Souk - Dallas

Everything was delightful, starting with the hot tea, which was beautifully fragrant and just sweet enough. As someone who loves tea, this was very important to me. For appetizers, we ordered a mixed greens salad with olives and the fantastic hummus. The warm pita bread that accompanied it was slightly chewy, but the hummus truly stole the show. Next came our entrees: Lamb Shawarma served on a bed of more hummus (yay!) with a mix of pickled vegetables on the side—very, very tasty. The other dish was Lamb Tagine, which was so flavorful and tender that there was no need for a knife. The rich lamb was perfectly complemented by the subtle sweetness of butternut squash, apricots, and raisins, all served over light and fluffy couscous. Our waiter mentioned they could substitute rice if we didn’t like couscous, but why would you? It's delicious! By this point, we were too full to even consider dessert, and we ended up having to pack a good portion of our entrees to go because we had indulged a bit too much with the appetizers, which were quite generous in portion. The decor and atmosphere were simple yet charming, and I especially enjoyed the open kitchen featuring a wood-burning oven. I sat where I could watch our food being prepared, which I find fascinating. Our waiter was incredibly patient, answering all our questions about the menu, chatting about various topics, and even took a picture for us with my phone so we could capture our meal along with the food on the table. We will absolutely be returning soon. My mom and I have already discussed how much fun it would be to gather some friends and enjoy some hookah on the patio (yes, they offer those in many flavors!), along with that wonderful hot tea and a plate of hummus. They also serve alcohol, but as I’m not much of a drinker, I can’t comment on that. Thank you, Souk, for a fantastic meal and a delightful experience. It's rare these days to find a place that feels genuinely warm and inviting, where customers are made to feel welcome and important rather than just another face passing through the door.

This place is the best! You can not find a more attentive, helpful and welcoming staff anywhere! We have been there several times and it has always been fantastic. I love how the staff engage you and do everything they can to have you enjoy your visit. If you have not tried them yet you need to, you won't regret it!

Delicious food! Our waiter was great also! The food was promptly served and it had a great presentation. The restaurant itself is very quaint and really cozy. When it came to the appetizer I loved the beef cigars!

We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary at this restaurant and were thrilled with our experience. Able, our server, was exceptional, and the food was simply delicious. Ken ordered the lamb tagine, which was spiced to perfection, making it one of the best lamb dishes we've ever tasted. I ordered the trout, and it was easily one of the finest fish dishes I've had in quite some time, even after enjoying seafood in Galveston just three weeks ago. We loved the ambiance and the music as well. We can’t wait to come back!
