Rice Garden Chinese Restaurant - Dallas

Place. Good place, good stuff, good quality and service.

9.5 times out of 10, this is a very pleasant experience. We have eaten here many times in the last several years. What I like about it: You are always greeted by someone who looks you in the face. That's a good thing. Also, I enjoy that the owner and service staff are stable and so we recognize each other, and it's friendly. This is a buffet restaurant, and I like that there are always a few vegetarian choices, and many other meat and seafood selections too. There's a center island of fresh fruit and healthy-ish sweets. Their not so healthy sweets are to be enjoyed too, my favorites: macaroons and the multi-layer cakes with pretty, transparent glazes. The whole place is bright and airy, and they play Chinese pop music. We usually go at non-rush times so we can enjoy our time, leisurely eating (not speed-gorging). There's always a mix of people here too and it's comfortable. Rice Garden Chinese is on our short list for neighborhood favorite dining.My phone camera is really low quality, sorry.

There was a roach in the food I didn’t make a big deal about it went ahead and left but wouldn’t recommend

I rated the restaurant low on service because the waitress wouldn 't whip the food out of the bench/boot seat, saying, I cannot do that with the manager there. Why was it hard to wipe the food out of the crack isn 't that the job. Then wanted a tip. Why do we give tips at a all you can eat restaurants ? we get out own food, all they do is bring us drinks.

The service was so bad. Whether it was the boss or the waiter, I called first to ask if there were crabs. However, the boss said: If you have any questions, please tell me immediately. I am very busy now and don’t waste her time, but we still went there to eat. When paying the bill, the waiter thought I called her and was very unhappy. The most important thing was that the food tasted terrible!
