Mixt - Dallas

Mixt has recently made its mark in Urban Dallas, bringing a touch of California to the city. I had the pleasure of trying their seasonal watermelon lemonade and building my own salad with apple slices, blue cheese, avocado, bacon, and a champagne vinaigrette - it was absolutely delicious! I also had the vegetarian meatballs from their Warm Plates menu, and despite not being vegetarian, I was impressed by the taste and texture. The meatballs were served with a house-made light tomato sauce that was simply divine. Mixt's Uptown Dallas location fits right in with the health-conscious demographic of the area. Welcome to Dallas, Mixt!

I must begin by saying that Julia is a fantastic asset to this restaurant! I cannot stress enough how she consistently exceeds expectations and provides excellent service with a smile every time I visit to buy a salad. Julia ensures that everything on my salad is perfect. Thank you, Julia, you are truly the best!

I decided to bring a friend to this restaurant after hearing good reviews, but unfortunately, I was disappointed by my salad and my friend's sandwich. The bread used for her sandwich turned out to be a hotdog bun, which we found surprising and disappointing. It made the sandwich messy to eat and did not justify the $10 price.

The entire office adores this restaurant. Even though I usually don't have a hankering for salads, this place has me craving their salads. A helpful tip: order a salad with grilled chicken and add the breaded chicken. It provides the perfect balance of meat to salad. Any less might make you feel like you've eaten too many greens or not enough protein.

The salad is very good, but stick to ordering salad and not the sandwiches. Lot of creative salad options and the one I shared with my wife was fantastic. Unfortunately the sandwich we shared was a very sad experience. The steak was cooked properly, but there wasn't any real flavor to enjoy. Even if there had been good steak flavor to enjoy, I'm fairly certain the bread would have still sucked the life out of it. I strongly suggest avoiding the sandwich options until they change the extremely dry and flavorless bread they currently use.
