Przekaż informację zwrotnąIn contrast to their advertising this is not a place for French foods; it is however a place for paris prices. our meal costs $75 per person, not including tips or wein. the food that was brought to the table was good, but not great, and you could say that it resembles French foods, but not exactly. encouraged by the waiter I had the Cajun chicken (not really French). this dish was tasty enough, but was really just a ulcer chicken breast, tasted in butter and covered with french fries. two people on our table had the duck conflict. again tasty enough, but not especially, especially at the price. Other menu items contain steak, a black and obligatory braided short rib, none of which would qualify as French. the Appetizer menu contains a foie grass and a country pine. in reality these are two different pates. there are no Fois grass that would be a real geese or deenleber prepared in a soße. maddeningly, the manager took time to argue with me about it although I did not seek the discussion. if you manager does not know the difference between pate de fois gras and fois gras, and they claim to be a French restaurant, they have problems. also the desert was a bit disappointing. the cream bruleee (also, not really French) came with hot crusts, but cold custard. once again, tasty enough, but everything in all, if they are looking for French food in dallas, this is not the place to look for. also if they are looking for an elevated meal where the prices and quality match, that is not this place. eating was good, but not great. the wine list was good, but not great.
We met local friends here after a long drive from Dallas ready for an Old Fashioned and the relaxing evening ahead. My wife appreciated the fresh yellow roses on the table. The lighting was subdued and the noise level low. The evening moved at a relaxed pace from mushroom risotto and escargot apps to a variety of fish dishes fresh halibut, Chilean sea bass and skate, a nice bottle of chardonnay and finally a chocolate mousse. Every dish was excellent. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly prepared. This place is a good choice for intimate gatherings or romantic evenings. After three visits, Bilboquet has become our favorite restaurant when visiting Dallas.
My husband and I flew to Dallas from North Carolina to attend the 20th Anniversary of the company he founded. Our daughter and her husband drove over from Austin to join us as well as our granddaughter and her fiancé from Tyler. For this special time together I made reservations at Le Bilboquet, a highly rated upscale French restaurant in the Travis Walk center. I had made reservations a month ahead to be sure we all could get in on a Saturday evening.Two of our grandchildren were unable to attend, so I called the restaurant Saturday afternoon to confirm our reservation and to inform them we would be 6 instead of 8. When we arrived for our 7pm reservation, we were directed to a small table just inside the doorway. I immediately ask if we could be seated at another table not located in the doorway. Looking around the restaurant there were several larger tables that were unoccupied, but the only one offered to our party was a table set for four that could be a very tight fit for 6. No other opinions were available per the manager, even after explaining this was an important event that we had planned and been looking forward to for some time. Needless to say we were all disappointed at the lack of consideration for our party. We chose to go elsewhere rather than be cramped sitting in the doorway. We were in walking distance of Toulouse Restaurant on Knox St. so we hoped we could get a table for the six of us. I must say that we made a great decision! We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. The service, food and atmosphere were perfect. A big Thank You to Toulouse Restaurant for saving our Celebration Dinner. It turned out to be a great night. Le Bilboquet is off my restaurant list. We highly recommend Toulouse on Knox St. Dallas for a great French dinner and friendly and efficient service!
So delicious! Ricardo honed his skills at the original and legendary Le Bilboquet in NYC and transplanted the delicious menu, bursting ambiance and attention to details to Dallas. Visiting from NYC, I was thrilled to see the high energy and attractive crowd and best of all the creamy pate, steak frites, excellent wine list and tasty deserts. We'll be back soon!
Hard to find something wrong with this spot. Very open very, white and bright, yet very warm and comfortable. Service was very personal and more than accommodating. I liked the menu, bit of everything that you could like. Food was fresh tasting, and plenty, and a fair and well balanced wine list. Patio is nice but I imagine on a busy afternoon not very appealing with the traffic. But you’ll like it here, simply pleasant
