Hypnotic Donuts Biscuits - Dallas

The ice cream here is fantastic and made in-house. I haven't had the opportunity to sample their donuts yet, but I will definitely stop by next time I'm in town!

FLIES IN THE DONUT CASE!!! I walked in this morning, and the first thing I noticed was flies buzzing around in the donut case! They were landing on the donuts and everything. I just couldn't ignore it! I politely informed the staff member at the counter and then left. Cleanliness is incredibly important to me. At this point, I have no idea what the donuts taste like, and I probably never will.

I tried again about two months ago, hoping to get the Elvis again, but encountered the same issue: cold, congealed bacon. I chose not to get the Elvis and instead left with a lemon donut. That lemon was fresh, the donut was crispy, and the lemon filling was delicious. I went back again on Friday, May 26. There were two Elvis donuts sitting there, both with cold, congealed bacon. I was going to buy several different donuts but ended up just getting two lemon donuts instead. I asked if they could make me two fresh Elvis donuts since they had just brought out a tray of fresh maple bacon. The lady manager, whose name I didn’t catch, curtly said no. They only made one tray of Elvis donuts on Fridays, and the only options I had were the two sad-looking ones with cold bacon and wilted banana slices. So I left with two lemon donuts instead of a half-dozen mixed variety. I really wish Hypnotic would return to making the Elvis with fresh sliced bananas and warm bacon. It feels like the vision they had when they first opened has been lost. The customer service used to be great, with cheerful employees and fresh donuts that made you want to return. Even the line out the door didn’t deter me back then. It seems like they’ve lost that total package experience. Just my two cents.

Honestly, it's my favorite doughnut place in all the Dallas area. Everything is always fresh and delicious. The staff is always friendly and inviting. The Atmosphere, while a small place, is colorful and open. Would not just go again but stay others there with me.

Not your typical donut, that's what makes it worth the short drive to pick these up. I love going into a place with personality and not the assembly line feel.
