About 30 minutes later, we received another message stating our table was ready. When we approached the host again, he reiterated that it was a mistake. We pointed out that this was the second message we had received indicating our table was ready, but he dismissed us, saying he could not seat us because the available tables were reserved for another party of five—contradicting what he had told us earlier about not accepting reservations for that size. At this point, he raised his voice and became irate, even gesturing aggressively towards the senior citizens in our party. I asked him to lower his voice, and in response, he made a pushing motion toward me with his hand. It’s important to note that this man was about 6 feet tall, shouting at me while I am only 5 feet tall. Overall, I am extremely disappointed that such behavior was tolerated by staff when all we did was inquire about our table, for which we had received two notifications stating it was ready.

I ordered takeout from Royal China, a place I used to visit frequently. The food was on the pricier side, but it was usually delicious. Unfortunately, my experience today was disappointing—the food was bland and not very impressive.

I'm not quite understanding the hype surrounding this place. The pan-seared pork dumplings had a strange egg batter texture, the meat was undercooked and pink, and there were too many carrots inside, which gave it an overpowering vinegar flavor. They definitely don't resemble your typical Chinese fried dumplings. The egg rolls were oversized, resulting in them being 80% cabbage. On the plus side, the shrimp fried rice was good. Overall, it just fell short of my expectations.

We ordered a variety of items since this was our first visit. For appetizers, we got pork buns and soup dumpings. Both were okay, but we'd only order the dumplings again. Next was the hot and sour soup. It was bad. My wife thought it tasted like a barnyard smells. The egg roll was greasy and flavorless. Lastly came the shrimp with lobster sauce. It was okay, but it was one dimensional. The food was pricey as well. Excellent service.

This was the first time we came here and we had a great experience! As an Asian, I will say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in the DFW area! The ambiance is upscale and the staff was wonderful, so I believe this is a good option for special occasions and large parties. This time we had Mongolian Beef, Sichuan Spicy Fish, Three Cups Mushrooms and Royal Prawn. All of these dishes were amazing, tasty and filling! I will be sure to come back and try some of the other dishes!
