Connie's Ice Cream Parlor - Dahlonega

I visited this restaurant with my parents during the Christmas holiday. Despite having a limited menu at the time, the offerings were fantastic. I ordered a peach-flavored ice cream cone, and my parents had burgers. Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful.

A few weeks ago, we arrived unannounced with a group of over 25 adults and children of all ages, simply wanting to grab some ice cream. The ice cream itself was delicious. The staff handled our influx of orders efficiently and graciously, without any complaints, even with some very tired toddlers in the mix.

I walked into the restaurant and found it to be dirty, and one of the ice cream containers had freezer burn. It was evident that the owner doesn’t care about the staff, as I’ve heard they are paid poorly, especially considering many are college students. My 16-year-old, who has no experience, just started her first job in the food industry and earns more per hour than these unfortunate employees do, which clearly reflects the situation.

My wife and I stopped in after dinner and I wasn't planning on getting ice cream but it looked so good I just had to get some. Unfortunately, we came in a little later in the evening so not all the flavors were available but we both got something we wanted. The servers are generous with their scoops, so much so that it was running over the sides of the cups. The ice cream was delicious. We also saw who I assumed were the owners, at least they were the couple who were on the pictures on the wall. I asked them about it and they were so nice to tell us all about the pictures, even telling us about one of the kids that is now a grown man. This is a cool little shop with something for everyone. We'll be going back for sure.

Came in late Friday, had cotton candy ice cream on a waffle cone. Great service from the young girl working and delicious ice cream. Looking forward to visiting again
