Filipe Pizza Pasta Italian - Cutler Bay

9/13/21 6:20pm . Came in (place was empty) was seated and the server completely forgot we where there. We got up and left. A party of 5 (the only table in the restaurant) when we walked out the employee just looked up from his phone and went back to his screen like nothing happened. Very sad. Feel bad for the owner.

Came here on a whim. Was in the mood for pizza, but wasn't really in the mood to be stuck in traffic to go to the spot we initially planned to go to. But thank to the handy dandy Yelp app we found this place closer. At the time we got there there wasn't a lot of people so we were able to sit right away. The overall feel of the place was nice. As they would say the ambiance was very nice. Also need to mention when we finally sat down a few moments later that's when the crowd started to come in so we lucked up with when we got there. Service was ok she came by every now and then but would go missing for a minute. The happy hour here was amazing a nice size of wine of your choosing. They had a very good selection too. Since I was in the mood for pizza that's what I went with. Create your own pizza. I went with chicken and mushroom on wheat dough. Yeah that thing was hItting.

I love this place. I have come a few times and let me tell you I'll rather eat at Filipes than Olive Garden. The food is delicious and huge portions. The customer service is also excellent. Let's support our locals. Give it a try won't regret it.

I have been wanting to try Filipe for a while...and it's funny I never knew they were located in the Southland Mall (if coming from inside the store they are across from the Starbucks and White Barn). My family and I just had done some shopping and we decided to finally try this place out as the opportunity presented itself. And considering what an amazing experience this resulted in... shows you this restaurant needs good word of mouth and advertisement because this place has delicious food. We entered the restaurant. Beautiful place. Clean... well decorated... warm and inviting. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our waiter, Renzo, came and greeted us. He gave us time to look at the menu since this was our first time. We received some focaccia bread on the house and it was amazing! Warm... tasty and with olive oil...delectable. Granted,I love bread and olive oil...but this was particularly good bread. We ordered our meal. My brother and I decided to split a large pizza with pepperoni, prosciutto and Italian sausage. My mother ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. She loved her meal. While my brother and I voraciously ate ours. Pizza was well cooked...hot...cheesy...and mmmm mmmm delicious. We all split for dessert a chocolate lava cake with some vanilla gelato. Fantastic! Loved the chocolate goodness of the lava cake....the warm gooey ness meeting the cold gelato brought a huge smile to my face. The meal was amazing...no doubt about it. I would, though, like to make special mention of the service provided by Renzo and really the entire staff. The guy hustled to make our meal great. He was patient... answered all our questions... repeatedly came by to see how we were doing. The guy had other tables and responsibilities soon after we ordered but he made us feel like our satisfaction was paramount. That guy is an amazing waiter.... whoever his boss is... you better realize this guy is gold. For anyone in Homestead/Cutler Bay area looking a wonderful Italian restaurant/pizza...swing by and give Filipe a try...you won't regret it.

Italian food with a fair price!! This is a hidden gem in Southland mall. The food NEVER disappoints. I usually order delivery but today I decided to come in person for the first time. First of all, their focaccia bread is so addicting- I could eat (and have) a whole loaf by myself. This usually comes with an entree but I asked for one while I waited for my food. The calamari is good and never over cooked. They are consistent with their food prep. The tomato basil soup was delicious, not too overpowering in any flavor, just very well balanced and seasoned. I also highly recommend the prosciutto pizza and their meat balls! Evalina and rest of staff is friendly. Definitely a top favorite Italian restaurant of mine you don't want to miss.
