Locanda Riccomaggio - Cursi

OK, so I was going to dock a star for them not being ready for us at 8:00pm the time we had booked for. We were told to come come in half an hour. Which we did (well 45 mins , but despite them speaking almost no English (but more than our Italian!! , we had the most fantastic meal. Probably the best we've had in the area. We told them my wife didn't like fish, but that I loved it (my wife brought a pre prepared drawing to illustrate this! and they brought us a wonderful selection of little dishes for the antipasti vegetables, cheese, and fish (small fish like sprats and whitebait deliciously deep fried in light batter breadcrumbs. Then a separate dish (not sure if was an antipasti or prima course, but it was great a plate of fried fish (about goldfish size and a bowl of mussels. Followed by for me a huge seafood pasta, and my wife a huge meat pasta. Although offered it (we think!! we declined the secundi, and gave up fully replete at that stage. A magnificent gastronomic experience. I expected the bill to be on the high side, but it wasn't and they even rounded it down!! You must visit. It's easy to find on the outskirts of Cursi opposite the football ground, and free street parking outside. But you're best booking first and don't go on a Monday it's closed. And bring cash they don't do any sort of plastic.

We didn 't have a reservation but this was not a problem as a table was quickly set . The staff had limited English but this didn 't seem to matter as they seemed glad to see us . There was four of us so they brought us a great selection of little dishes for the antipasti vegetables selection including , egg plant , cheese, and fish small fish whitebait and what looked like fresh sardines but were delicious fried in light batter and breadcrumbs . The prima course followed with a large selection of seafood and pasta, silver served by the waiter this included mussels , clams , and king prawns in a rich tomato sauce, to which my friend 'commented the food just keeps on coming ', The local Rose wine was excellent and accompanied seafood wonderfully . We were all agreed this was fantastic meal experience and very reasonably priced, truly a hidden gem of a restaurant . The best bit was when we discovered they didn 't accept credit cards and even though we were short some Euros , the owner trusted us to return two days later, which we did to give him the balance . That would never happen in many parts of the world If your in the area you must visit this restaurant on the outskirts of Cursi free parking outside. Better to book in advance closed Mondays

Siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi da questo posto! Abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Il pesce era delizioso. Il primo piatto era abbondante e delizioso! Il pesce fresco era ottimo! In poche parole, tutto era fantastico! È una locanda gestita dalla famiglia con personale molto gentile. Un mix di cordialità, cibo eccellente proveniente dall'orto di famiglia e pesce fresco. Fatevi consigliare dal proprietario sui piatti e non ve ne pentirete!

La mia esperienza in questo ristorante è stata molto deludente! I piatti erano mediocri e il conto troppo caro. Inoltre, fate attenzione se avete bambini, non sembrano essere ben accolti qui.

Eccellente luogo per una cena tipica salentina! Consigliato!
