This was recommended to us by people that live in the area and we weren 't disappointed as were had be 'warned ' that this place is very rustic and quirky- 'we like both: The place is run by an elderly couple who only open on certain days and certain evenings so it is worth ringing first to check. The speciality is duck however I had local beef which was delicious. There didn 't appear to be a vegetarian option.my husband and son had the duck and said it was really tender. The food is plentiful and as I said before the emphasis is on duck. The puddings are equally large and we came away having had 4 large courses there was homemade soup too! barely able to walk but had a really different meal at a reasonable price. There is a small selection of wine either by bottle or in carafe which is good. They also cater for younger children there were plenty there while we were there but I 'm not sure whether it is smaller portions of the same delicious food. I would highly recommend if you are looking for something different
This friendly auberge offers a 5 course dinner with aperitif for 22 Euros fantastic value and the home cooked food was delicious. Service was quick and excellent from the proprietaire and his wife. We'll definitely be going back. The restaurant is at one end of the charming and historic village of Curemonte, with its 3 chateaux, well worth a half day visit in its own right.
This is quite possibly the best in traditional regional food. Mme Reygal is a charming hostess. She bustles around taking your order, cooking and serving your meal. The speciality is duck and being a table d'hote the menu is limited, but the experience is amazing. Five courses starting with a homemade nut or peach liqueur, soup, pate or an omelette, the main of magret or confit de canard or sometimes beef, cheese and dessert followed by coffee.
A delight to be pampered by this couple the food was copious and homecooked the four of us really enjoyed having our meal service on platters
