City Lights - Cumberland

Cosy town and super nice restaurant. Kudos to the staff: attentive and appropriate. And also quite good food, compliments to the cook.

Absolutely without a doubt this place has the friendliest staff I've ever met! Quaint little restaurant pub. From the second you step into the restaurant until the second you leave the staff is very attentive. We never had to ask for anything. The food is absolutely delicious. You receive large portions that are expertly prepared and reasonable priced. We had appetizers, entrees and dessert. The hardest decision was what to get as everything that came out if the kitchen looked so good. We sat in the bar area as we liked that atmosphere the most. The upstairs boasted candle lit tables with linen tablecloths. Most customers did have reservations. We did not; but, we were not turned away. We were equally welcomed. You must try thir little gem out if you are in the area.

Superior dining in Cumberland MD. My wife and I had a 40th anniversary dinner there last week and it was memorable. Great wine, beautifully cooked filets, a wonderful cheese plate, and a Brussels sprouts appetizer that left the better half speechless. (She was too busy eating! Best of all, our waitress knew when to check in and when to leave us alone. Like, discretion is the better part of valor. What a concept! A GREAT experience.

I know we are in Cumberland but the food is mediocre...for the price it should be outstanding Vegetarian options: Very few vegetarian options Parking: No free parking whatsoever Wheelchair accessibility: I brought my father here who is in a wheelchair, had to find the alley doorway, the staff was unbelievably rude because I was bringing in someone handicapped through the backdoor. They made me feel like he doesn't deserve to eat cause he has special needs. We were in Cumberland, MD on only one night prior to biking the C&O Canal Towpath to WDC; thus were wanting a hearty meal. Our front desk hotel staff both unequivocally recommended City Lights, and we're Grateful they did! What a Wonderful dinner, both in Quality and Value! Come to dinner hungry! While their carmelized bussel sprout appetizer was Delicious, unless you are a Big eater know you will likely be taking (Wonderful) leftovers home.
