Muy rico, falta un poco más de constancia en atención al cliente, pero muy buen lugar.
Known for rotisserie chicken but also has a very extensive menu of Mexican classics. Generous servings and good food, beer on tap, great aguas frescas, quick service, economical prices and friendly people, if you're sightseeing downtown it's worth a stop, across from the Hampton inn...and next to Panaderia Madrid which you should also visit. To go also done.
I must have walked by this place countless times without giving it much notice. But finally, when I did notice it, boy, did I ever do so. It has great food, big portions, lovely atmosphere, cheap prices. It is always jam-packed, day and night, and...now I know why. Try their roasted chicken. Mouth watering, delectable. The waiters, though harried, are also as attentive as possible. This is a slice of 'old Mexico City, ' folks, with elderly guitarists often strolling in to serenade the clientiele with romantic classics. You will want to visit this place early and often. (Have you noticed how the physical size of plates at the expensive restaurants get smaller and smaller, to make it appear like you 're getting a decent amount of food, when you know better? Here, the plates are big and the portions are bigger.
I went in at 9:30 pm for dinner and the place seemed still active with a few people inside. Shortly after I was seated I was told they were not serving anything on the menu except chicken. I ordered chicken tacos and I was. in...for a surprise, not a good one. The waiter brought out the worst looking tacos I ever seen in my life! Big chunks of rotisserie chicken on a corn tortilla. The chicken was so dry and tasted disgusting! I immediately pushed it aside as I didn't even want to look at it. The waiter comes by and I told him it was NO GOOD and tasted bad. His reaction amazed me. He looked at me as if were my fault they tasted terrible. No consideration was taken by him or the cooks to make it right. So I decided I would have dinner elsewhere. I asked for the check and I could not believe the charge was on the check! I never in my life heard of charging a customer for something they could not eat. I asked the waiter why it was on the bill and he made an excuse they could not remove it. I could not believe it! I paid the check and left the place and will never go back. Please take my advice, don't waste your money at this place. It is terrible!!!
