Wimpy's - Crystal Falls

I had a beer and a burger, along with some fresh-cut fries at this place, and I was really impressed by how good everything was for the price! Upon entering, a young gentleman behind the counter greeted me with a smile, which was such a nice touch. I enjoyed a pleasant conversation with him and another local. Later on, I believe the owner and the cook came out to join us, and I learned quite a bit about the town. For instance, I found out that the building housing Wimpy's is the oldest in Crystal Falls, and the owner renovated it a few years ago. Apparently, he has also restored several other buildings in Crystal Falls. How cool is that? The people in this town are wonderful!

Service was extremely slow, and I noticed a guy smoking in the back. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have plenty of time to spare.

The food is reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is great. The servers were exceptional—very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent! They offer old-school pop bottles to drink, along with a nice selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

The waitress brought a puppy around, which was a bit distracting. We waited 40 minutes for our food and then another 15 minutes for the bill. The food itself wasn’t bad, but it arrived cold. I don't plan on coming back here again.

UPDATE: I decided to give the restaurant another chance today. With only a handful of patrons present, we hoped for a better experience. Our server was excellent, but the wait for food was unacceptable—over an hour for four burgers and an order of boneless wings, especially considering the lack of customers. I can’t attribute the delay to a busy kitchen. Furthermore, charging $6-7 for a hamburger that comes without any vegetables, fries, or chips, and is served on a rather lackluster dry bun feels unjustified. The prices are on par with amusement parks. I believe a $7 burger should at least include a pickle spear and a bag of chips (and fries as a side are an additional $2.50). The simple meal we ordered totaled $60. That stings.
