The Breakfast Club - Croydon

The Breakfast Club has undergone some changes, with half of the menu missing, nonexistent service (with gratuity charged), and a decline in food quality. It is unclear if there has been a change in ownership or if the franchise has been sold. I would not consider returning, even if paid to do so.

My husband and I came to this restaurant on a Tuesday morning for a special breakfast, but it was far from being a treat. The wait staff, consisting of only two members, seemed to be doing their best, but one of them had a bad attitude and was quite lazy. We had to ask for a coke and coffee twice, as they never arrived. When our food finally came, my husband's meal arrived first while mine was not ready at the same time. They also forgot to bring the toast and there was even a charred piece of bacon in the picture. We had to get our own cutlery and no one bothered to ask if we wanted any sauces. The food was cold and not served at the same time. We had to sit among our dirty plates and cutlery for a long time before we had to get up and ask for the bill ourselves. I requested for the service charge to be removed, but no one questioned why. Overall, it was a shambles and if they are going for a low-quality cafe vibe, then they need to adjust their prices accordingly.

Nice food. would have preferred a pot of tea instead of a cup. service was good. However, the £2 gratuity charge on your bill was disappointing. First time I have ever seen it in a cafe.

Booked this after seeing it on Tiktok and would defiantly go back. The food was phenomenal and the staff were supper friendly as well.

Have had amazing experience at TBC, Hackney in my last two visits and that is why planned to visit TBC Croydon. Unfortunately, the whole experience turned out really disappointing. The main highlights were- restaurant understaffed! quite common nowadays in many restaurants across London . But this cannot be an excuse for bringing out burnt food from kitchen. Long waiting time to get food on table waited for a good 30mins ; those who came after us, ordered food much later than us were served first, dunno why!! Food served cold was resting on service counter for about 10mins . One of the dishes was Disco Hash, our all time favourite, was total flop- soggy potato, no crunch, onions jalapeño missing! Second dish- fried chicken with brioche- cold chicken burnt brioche, just couldn’t eat the second toast as it was nicely charred. We could not eat both the dishes. Best bit, we asked for water 3 times but not a single glass served! : But, the good bit was- upon complaining, disco hash was replaced this one was no good either! What I really appreciated was that the Manager did not charge us for the food at all. We insisted to pay for our 2 coffee and 1 juice which we consumed but they were kind enough to decline that too. So thank you for this gesture, much appreciated! Sorry TBC Croydon, came with high expectations but was really disappointed!
