Mama's Buoi - Crows Nest

We have been to Mama's Buoi in Surry Hills and enjoyed the food and the experienceThis time we visited their Crows nest location.

Have heard a lot of good things about this place I only realised last week that they were in Crows Nest! So of course even more reason to try it.

Had been eying this newcomer for a while, but sadly we were disappointed on the night. Service was pretty patchy, as was the food.

I first bought a take away from this place when he was first opened, but was turned off from the long (20-30min) and half-boiled pork. Therefore, I was a bit hesitant to come here with friends for lunch. Grief I ordered the relatively secure soft shell crab with green papaya and pomelo salad ($ 21). The problem of this dish for me was the soft shell crab - while it was cooked well with a crispy outer and seasoned with salt and pepper, the gills were not removed from the crab, which served for messy food. The salad was light and fresh, sweet and sparkling from the fruits, but could have done a little more fish sauce and maybe a chili kick can do. The shrimp crackers were a plus. Grief This place appears in the entertainment book 2016/17.

Love the decor and the furnished, warm and cozy. Had the big Pho, for $ 16 was expensive, and a little light on the topping was broth in order, too heavy on the star anise and definitely too sweet. Grief The service was pretty good, the Wait staff was polite and attentive.
