I 've been a loyal Harry 's customer for decades, starting when Harry was alive and making his continual 'Happy Easter ' salutation year-round. Harry 's, now owned by is son-in-law Roy, continues the tradition of offering domestic and imported cheeses, cold cuts, and olives at deep discounts. Often, he has great deals on overruns and closeouts that are unbelievably great!! Look in his fridge or ask him if he has anything special. My advice: get to Haymarket early to avoid the crowds.
Harry was so friendly and offered us samples without us asking. It seemed like he rounded down our prices because our 3 slices of cheese was only $10. I 'd come back here to get more cheese next time I 'm in Boston. We got the XXX cheddar (it does have a kick and lingers, but not explosively so , another cheese that I 'm blanking on (beer cheese? , and the Greek Manouri which was my all time favorite. It 's a sheep milk 's cheese that 's a byproduct of making feta, but 'without the salt ' as Harry described it. It was so good I 've been looking for it since I 've been back in Boston. He also gave us samples of the sheep feta that my friends raved back and wanted to get for making salads.
Harry's Cheese Cold Cuts near Haymarket is the best place in Boston to get cheeses. The man who owns the store is super friendly and helpful, but his name isn't Harry. The man treats everyone kindly. His store is open on Fridays and Saturdays. He told me he closes by 5pm, but sometimes earlier if the business is slow. If you need him to open until 5pm, call him ahead of time. He takes credit cards, including American Express and he is very gracious about it. I try to pay cash whenever I can because this is a small business.
Very nice man, Roy wants his customers to be happy and bends over backward to make a customer happy. Nice man
