Bawk! By Urban Roots - Crossing

I have to say I was quite disappointed with the food at this restaurant. Despite the appealing pictures and positive reviews, my experience fell short of expectations. Everything I ordered was excessively salty, making it nearly impossible to finish my meal—even though I usually enjoy saltier dishes. The Mac and Cheese was quite average, nothing special at all. The fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was both salty and very dry; it was so tough that I had to take it apart just to manage it. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was a bit better but still too salty and on the dry side. I left with the roof of my mouth feeling raw from the overcooked chicken, and half of my meal was untouched because of the overwhelming saltiness. Personally, I won't be coming back. In contrast, the Popeyes chicken sandwich is far better—more flavorful and much better prepared. I really hoped to have a better experience here.

The chicken and waffles were absolutely delicious! The Nashville chicken sandwich was excellent too. While it could have used a bit more spice, it was still fresh and tasty!

The flavor was amazing, from the spiced chicken batter to the refreshing mint julep. The mac and cheese was delightful as well!

The service was excellent, and the food was amazing. I was pleased to learn that they can accommodate gluten-free requests and also offer some fantastic gluten-free options right on the menu, such as the cauliflower bites.

Madison was the best server I've encountered in a long time. Despite being very busy and handling everything on her own, she maintained a smile and provided excellent service, even under pressure! I will definitely be returning!
