Small coffeehouse in "downtown" Crofton. Formerly known as Carol's Place, the place has been there for decades. Jane and Jerry took it over now several years back and did a wonderful job renovating it. The owners created the place to help support their friends' charity, K.I.D.S. International, a registered Canadian charity supporting education, healtcare and water systems in Cambodia. The coffee is great, and there are homemade sandwiches too. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a couple dozen. The place is big enough for small community meetings too. There are local artists' items on display for purchase too.If you have a half-an-hour to kill before the Saltspring ferry this is a good place to hang. Next to the Post Office, General Store, and the famous Crofton Shop'n'Wash.
Coffee was great, atmosphere peaceful, a back yard experience. Service was great, eight cycles showed up to wait for the ferry we had a relaxing time.
Was in the area for work and needed a quick lunch. Lots on offer, fresh made. Goodies on the counter and a wonderful cinnamon smell in the air from freshly made cinnamon buns. Had one - they are different from what I'm used to... this one had no icing, and was served with butter. No raisins - yes! Good texture, average taste though. I guess I just prefer cream cheese icing on my cinnamon buns. Had a pot of tea and an egg sandwich. Very warm service, lots of smiles. Nice area to sit inside and even nicer outside the back in the sunshine.
