Gioma - crete

During our exploration of the Libyan coast of Crete, we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a restaurant. The exterior was incredibly charming and inviting, so we decided to give it a try. Spoiler alert: we were completely won over by this lovely establishment with its seating area by the sea. The setting was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Opting for a light lunch, we selected a variety of appetizers and white wine. Our meal included hummus, fava beans, stuffed grape leaves, stuffed zucchini blossoms, and eggplant, all accompanied by homemade bread. The owner was gracious and made sure our meal was vegan. We left feeling extremely happy and satisfied with these delicious traditional Greek appetizers.

The restaurant offers a beautiful view and delicious food. The service is prompt and the meal was enjoyed during dinner.

My experience at several taverns in Plakias was disappointing, as the food at this particular restaurant was the worst. The service was mediocre, the meal was for dinner and it cost around €25-30 per person. The food and service both rated a 2 out of 5, but the atmosphere was slightly better at a 4 out of 5.

I will be dining at this restaurant with my tango group in November. The food here is excellent, especially the fish and desserts. It is a great place to watch the sunset. We will definitely be returning next year! They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes as well. The service is good, and the atmosphere is lovely. The price per person for dinner is €20–25.
