The chicken schnitzel is not crumbed in house and as a result has a thick layer of almost a dough like substance under the crumb which falls away from the chicken when you cut it. Schnitzel came with chips which were average and packet vegetables. Pepper sauce was ok not very peppery. The pizza was undercooked with too much cheese and totally lacking in flavour. Not surprising seeing they don't even use their traditional style pizza oven to cook the pizza....mind boggling!?Some of the most average club food I've ever eaten. Won't waste my money again.
Was great atmosphere for the children in the play room. Very family friendly. Food wasn't the greatest. Took a while to bring out and the chicken Kiev was not satisfying. But overall an average experience would recommend for families with children.
I'm sure I have done this one. Lunches for $10 and very good serves and lovely food. Dinners are also reasonable and have a small eaters menu as well.
The portions here are fantastic and the food is tasty. It's well priced too for what you get. The service wasn't bad but you do have to go to the counter to order and other than bringing your food to the table there isnt much too it. I got a nice sized rump steak with mushroom sauce and mash and veges on the side for under $20, so no complaints! The live music was really good coming from the bar.
I recently went to dinner with family at the restaurant in the queanbeyan Roos club and I have to say I was quite disappointed with the food and overall experience. Let me begin with the positives - the serving sizes are very generous! All mains come with a choice of mash, chips or jacket potato and choice of vegetables or salad in addition to the meal. Now for the let downs. To begin with, the service is almost non existent. You have to go up to the counter to order your meal and you have to prepare your own table with cutlery and serviettes that are available at the counter. Anyway, looking through the menu they have a range of different meals. I found it difficult though to pick something as either they meal was ruined by being battered and deep fried as opposed to grilled or had cream in the sauces. Both those things I do not like to eat so that cut quite a few options out for me. I decided to go with the fillet Mignon (one of the more pricier mains) which was eye fillet of beef wrapped in bacon and served with a wild mushroom sauce. And i went with chips and vegetables. And the meat ordered to be cooked medium rare. Sounds delicious-yes! But it was not what I expected. I was expecting this tender melt in your mouth piece of eye fillet wrapped generously in grilled bacon, with a side of sautéed mushrooms with its reduced sauce, and the chips and vegetables. This was not the case! The meat was a decent size- however it had this tiny stingy strip of bacon on one of the sides which was basically all fat with tiny parts of it being the actual bacon. The wild mushroom sauce was loaded on top of the steak and on half the plate with maybe a total of 6 very small pieces of mushrooms. The sauce was thick and basically tasted like your basic gravy and the meat was under seasoned. Salt and pepper were on the table which I had to add over the whole meal. Now another positive would be that the meat was cooked to the medium rare stage to which I liked - although the outer bits were slightly over cooked. However being eye fillet and cooked almost perfectly, it was unfortunately very tough and chewy! The vegetables were just steamed green beans, corn and peas which were tasteless even with my addition of salt and pepper and the chips tasted like those frozen chips you buy at the supermarket and then fried. They also had little to no seasoning. So overall it was a very average meal for me. I am very critical when it comes to eating out as I know what good food is (I am a brilliant cook) and this just didn't make the cut for me. Would I order that meal again? No!And would I return back? Probably not!In addition other meals that my family ordered included the seafood basket which was very oily and greasy from it all being deep fried. It was a large serving again. The chicken parmigiana which was a very Aussie style chicken parmigiana not the authentic Italian one. The chicken Caesar salad which I tried some of the chicken breast in it. It was quite tasty - tasted like the usual Caesar salad taste and it was a very big serving. Also the pepper steak was ordered which looked similar to my meal with the sauce a gravy style sauce again but with pepper instead.
