Crooked Tale Gastropub - Crestview

This was the best culinary experience I’ve ever had. The Sunday brunch is unparalleled, and the grits are the finest I’ve ever tasted. Words can't do it justice—just go and enjoy it for yourself!

Fantastic spot to savor delicious food and experience a welcoming team. I visited from August 21st to August 25th and loved relaxing over a drink. Bobbi and the staff were exceptional.

I wish I could share my thoughts on the food, but we never got the chance to try it since we couldn't get any service. There were 2 waiters busy setting up tables and 3 others chatting at the bar. After waiting for 20 minutes, I approached one of the waiters who was arranging tables to ask if our table had someone assigned to it. She shot me a dirty look and walked away. So, we decided to leave. We were trying to celebrate my son's 30th birthday, but we ended up going elsewhere. If you're okay with sitting and waiting, this place might be worth a visit, but it wasn't for us.

On a recent trip to the Gulf Coast, we were looking for a fun laid-back place to unwind after a 6 hour drive. The first place that popped up in the map, even before searching for restaurants was the Crooked Tale. Intrigued by the name, my partner and I started reading through their creatively named menu which convinced us to go.While the Crooked Tale Gastropub (bar grill) may seem unimpressive from the outside, inside the food and character of the place are awesome. Our server was very attentive to our needs. To our surprise, the quality of the food was outstanding. We ordered the pretzel bites as an appetizer and were surprised to get warm, apparently freshly made soft pretzels. My girlfriend loved the shrimp penne alfredo and I was hugely impressed with The Five Families Fish Dinner. Even the deserts afterwards, the Bootlegger Brownie for her and the KeyLime Crime for me were impressively done.Should we stay in Crestview again, this is a must visit place for us and should be for anyone else as well.

It took FOREVER to get our food. You need to bring your own appetizer because you'll be starved by the time your food is ready. We came very close to just paying for our drinks and leaving. They did not seem very busy either. I wouldn't mind the wait except that the food was really nothing special. Give this one a pass. There are far better options in this area.
