We tried the fritters, fries, Jambalaya and today's special (blackened scallops and grits) and the food was absolutely delicious! Well cooked, well seasoned, and would give any Jambalaya ive ever had in California or Louisiana a run for its money! We are seriously impressed woth the chef here. We can't wait to go back and try more dishes on the menu. Plus the staff was super nice, just a really grateful experience overall!!
Love the menu. We had the salad with blackened red snapper (very spicy! and the shrimp po boy (very fresh and tasty . The bread comes from a bakery in New Orleans and adds excellent flavor. The olive tapenade was delicious. Definitely worth ordering. I loved the flavor of the jambalaya but wish it was more spicy. We were told they dialed it back a little to cater to more people. If I find myself back in Crescent City, we will absolutely visit again.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover such excellent Cajun food in Crescent City. The Jambalaya had a delightful kick, and the Fish and Chips were wonderfully tasty, especially paired with their fantastic homemade tartar sauce. Be sure to try the Boudin Balls as an appetizer; they were so delicious that we wished we could order another plate. They also have an ice cream counter, so make sure to save some space for dessert!
The outdoor seating with a view of the beach was perfect. The jambalaya was outstanding, and I say that as someone who has lived in Louisiana for many years! The service was quick and friendly. Thank you!
I had a fantastic experience at House of Jambalaya! Their gluten-free jambalaya is absolutely AMAZING, and they also offer a variety of other gluten-free options along with the best cider I've ever had (honey from Humboldt). The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is welcoming, and even during their busy dinner rush, the owner took the time to chat with me about her and her husband's dream of opening this restaurant. They managed to open just days before COVID forced businesses to close, and I'm so grateful they persevered because these wonderful people are doing incredible things for their community. Please support local businesses and pay them a visit! P.S. I ordered my meal to go, so the photo doesn’t quite capture the presentation.
