Principe - CREMONA

This place has an unique reputation for high quality artisan ice cream. They have an outstanding variety, but not silly flavours like gummy bear or bubblegum, and some of the flavours are beyond excelent. The location is not the best (except for the easy parking) because is close to a busy interseption (for Cremona standards). However the quality will surprise you if you like ice cream made with fresh seasoning ingredients and without kilos of sugar.

I have visited this gelateria many times during the years and is and amazing one in term of quality of the ice creams. It has acquired inclusive international reputation with many people around the world knowing about it. The variety and quality of ice creams (and ice lollies, ice cream sandwiches, etc in the attached shops) is fantastic. However, there has been some negatives. This year the service was not as good and as soon as you ask for something extremely similar but different to their standard procedure (e.g. spread the ice cream differently in a cup) they automatically deny it and became irritated (inclusive offering paying extra and provide tip). Furthermore, there are other places in Cremona in which some ice cream flavours are far superiors that here. At the end always a strong recommendation for a starting point opening to visit the other ones for some particular flavours. Ice cream cakes not very good.
