End of the 1st stage on the Panoramaweg Taubertal from Rothenburg to Creglingen. There are not so many overnight stays in Creglingen for the stage walker, and we had therefore asked one of the two apartments in the towers of the old city wall as an overnight stay in the Bistro at the tower. The Bistro rents it in addition to the actual restaurant business. A tower is located right at the Bistro, which we went for a night 500 meters from the Bistro. If you are looking for a holiday in a medieval tower, you will be saved here very well. The apartment has a very special flair. In Creglingen the culinary possibilities are quite limited and therefore we have also admired our hosts for dinner. From the outside, the bistro is located in a very picturesque building. An old workshop building was very attractively renovated. Inside, the bistro looks more like a snack because a restaurant. An open kitchen with frits, with some tables and a large counter. The whole thing is relatively dark, as in many old houses the small windows owe. Fortunately, we could get a table on the small terrace between house and adjacent tower and sat so very pleasant on this sunny Sunday evening. The map is more on snack and bistro levels. More fun are the offers of the day card that will be presented to the guest at different tables outside the house. It is pleasing that the card lists the suppliers of processed products. An impressive selection of homemade cakes can also be found in the daily menu. In addition, there are ice cream from a farm in the area. As I said, the solid card could not give up so much joy. But we're stuck in the day card. My wife chose Penne with Bart Likör and Parmesan. She was happy with the result she served. The pesto tasted her well. The court had no complaints. I ordered onion roasts with croquettes and salad in service. On the onion frying my choice, because on the map the local butcher, whose shop we had seen shortly before, was called a supplier. The Roastbeef was well matured, almost perfect medium fritted, and could please. The grounded onions upstairs were good. Not so good the Convinience sauce and the finished croquettes. Here the snack flashed again. The court was okay, not anymore. The additional salad is then fresh, but also provided with a finished vinaiigrette. In the end, we had an eye on the peasant ice cream and let us count the varieties available in the evening. The ice cream is always fresh from the farm with seasonal ingredients and so new varieties stand at the bistro at the tower. I don't know the varieties anymore, but the ice cream was the best part of dinner tonight. My wife stayed with an apple choir, I was a wine from the map of a local winery. I confess he doesn't remember. The service had no problems handling the guest wishes, everything is kept at a very simple level. What we would do with a more compact criticism of the conclusion. The PLV is good, the rest is ok after the simple requirement of the bistro on the tower. You can eat and be fed there without great need. Given the lack of alternatives, this was all right tonight.
