Sad this place is closed- we had a pretty good time with bottomless mimosas on the balcony during Mardi Gras before the world shut down. Our server was so sweet and bubbly I hope she’s gainfully employed.

Great food! Awesome people! Came here twice during my 4 day New Orleans visit. The manager was super sweet and talked with us the whole time we were there, definitely needed that hearty food before the bar crawl. The second time I came in alone and had a great conversation with the bartender, Kenna. She was super cool and interesting to talk to. This place has got it all going on. Great find! The service and the food were amazing. Not as outrageously priced as the more trafficked restaurants in Jackson Square. Must try the shrimp chowder, garlic chicken appetizer, and red beans and rice.

New Orleans has a lot to offer, and adding The Governor to your must eat list may be cutting it short, but the this place has a lot to offer for a ' 'tourist trap ' '. Try the deep fried Alligator; it 's worth it!
