I asked Susan why that was, and she informed me that our orders weren’t eligible for happy hour pricing and that our table location didn’t qualify either. She never mentioned any of this when we ordered. According to her, we should have noticed that there were no happy hour menus at our table (the restaurant isn’t very big) and that happy hour pricing only applies to the bar area. There was no signage indicating this, not even in their promotional materials. She claimed the margaritas we ordered were considered craft cocktails and couldn't be discounted, except for the strawberry one because it was deemed "fruity." However, the menu doesn't categorize margaritas as fruity, and last I checked, watermelon, tamarindo, and cucumber are all fruits. Susan also said that no one else was confused by this policy. She claimed to be the manager and gave us a $2 discount on some drinks, but not all. She stated there was nothing else she could do, and mentioned that the nachos I ordered weren’t happy hour nachos, even though she hadn’t indicated any difference when I placed the order. Overall, this experience was extremely misleading due to poor marketing and rude management. I had visited this restaurant a few times before, but after this, I won’t be coming back.
Additionally, the owner was incredibly rude and unprofessional when we addressed our concerns about the food, which is a common theme in the negative reviews on Google and Yelp. It seems she needs to focus on better training for her staff and take customer feedback seriously. The amount of bad reviews certainly outweighs the good ones, and it might be time for her to reconsider her approach instead of harassing customers who leave honest feedback about their experiences.
The service, drinks, and food were all outstanding. I really enjoyed the steak Milanesa, and the chicken mole was absolutely exceptional. As for parking, there's plenty available in the back.
We sat down and waited for our food, other people came in ~8-10min after us and got their food before us, upon asking our waiter he just deflected blame and didn’t even apologize on behalf of whoever was taking their sweet @ss time with our food.. I will not be coming back here
This restaurant charges a credit card fee that is not apparent in their menu, beware. Their guacamole and chips is listed as “market value” under price, ask ahead of time how much it is because they won’t tell you unless you ask. I paid $15.99 for a fist sized portion of guacamole and chips, ridiculous. Waitress encourages you to do add-ons without informing of price increase. Total price paid was way too much. Waitress implied she was the manager when I asked her about the additional charges: “I’ve been a manager for 30 years” (her words) implies she’s a manager. Turns out she wasn’t the manager and the actual manager came to confront me in a combative manner to scold me and not try to find a solution, no customer friendliness whatsoever. Yuck.
