My burger patty appeared to be homemade and the fresh vegetables on top were delicious. We initially stopped in one day but found that the restaurant was closed to give the staff a day off, which we found understandable in today's world. We were glad to have tried again.
This restaurant offers an incredible experience with homemade food that tastes delicious! My girlfriend and I visited while on vacation from the mainland, and let me say, whether you're a visitor or a local, this is easily one of the best breakfast spots you'll ever try. The simplicity of the menu is what makes it so special - the food is delicious and will warm your heart. I would rate it a 10 out of 10.
I had lunch at this restaurant today and had the hamburger with French fries and a root beer. I enjoyed it and have been here before. I also enjoyed looking at all the license plates, especially the old 76 gas pump.
We went to Plates on Sunday Sept 4 @11AM. It was busy, and obvious that they were understaffed. However, all the employees were hustling, and we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server was quick, kind and courteous. She said they had 3 people call in sick. She was definitely on the ball, Our coffee mugs never ran dry, and our food came out quickly considering the staff shortage. The food was absolutely delicious! My friend had the Eggs Benny, and I had Meat Lover Breakfast. I would definitely recommend Plates, and I will visit again next time I'm on Vancouver Island. Their staff all deserve huge applause for going above and beyond!

My husband had the seafood benny with a side of sausage. tastes wonderful The decor was nice. All the licence plates every where and old gas pumps. Will definitely return again.
