What a hidden gem! This is a superb restaurant, fabulous quality, fresh food, delicious wines, great service and reasonably priced too
The restaurant is clean and well presented. Service is slow, bearing in mind the place was not particularly busy. Although we enjoyed being out, the food was nothing special... The kids pasta dish and arribiata dish from the main menu could have been better if there was more pasta and less sauce. The meat feast pizza was average and the lasagne was a small portion for the price. The black currant cordial tasted like water. There were two extra items on our bill which were not purchased (1 cheese cake and a large pepsi) and I only realised this when I was walking out of the resteraunt, towards the door. We got a refund in cash, but we 're told 'in future, we should check before we pay '. Fair enough, but I would encourage everyone to check their receipt. Especially if you send your partner to pay the bill, like I did. We had £10 added to our bill which we hadn 't purchased. Mistakes happen but putting this aside, the food was average and our experience was disappointing. Sadly, we won 't be going back. There are better places to eat out for the money we paid.
Lovely, charming, well presented restaurant. The staff were very welcomming. The food was lovely, as was the beer and wine! And the tables wern't sticky, which is always a big plus. We both had Pollo Buon Appetito, which was superb
Burn Appetito clearly has a captive audience in the village of Wolsingham as there is little competition in terms of eating establishments, so I was hoping to be impressed on my second visit as hadn’t been on my first visit. Once again totally disappointed. In most Italian establishments you receive a little bread, olive oil, just something, definitely not here. The wine range was incredibly limited so we chose a decent red, rather expensive. The starters took an age to arrive and I had ordered tomato and basil soup and it came with a 2 inch piece of toasted bread and was hugely disappointing. My partner ordered the special lobster ravioli starter and it was the weirdest tasting dish. The main course I hoped would be better…… my partner ordered fillet steak with prawns and at nearly £35 a dish hoping to be blown away. Imagine the surprise when it arrived with mediocre chips, not one vegetable or pice of garnish in sight and just the steak and 3 prawns! Wow, definitely not wow! I had cannelloni and can safely say it was the worst offering I’ve ever had in an Italian restaurant. It was swimming in what looked like tomato soup and the actual mince was grey. Needless to say I sent it back and ordered a pizza. The experience could be so much better and the shame is for an Italian they didn’t even have proper red wine glasses. We definitely won’t be back unless they have a radical rethink. Only saving Grace is the staff are lovely.
