The Blue Duck is no longer and is now Longview, but same owners, different menu. The atmosphere is not quite the same and doesn't feel as up market even with the renovations and change of name, although the prices still reflect upmarket. There was not much of a choice for desserts and cocktails like The Blue Duck. It was my 60th birthday 2021 and after my experience of 2020 on my birthday after moving from Melbourne and arriving on 8th December, I found the experience this year a disappoitment from last year. The best thing was it was quiet with not a lot of people and the weather was cool and breazy so could not enjoy the deck. Staff were good, but I thought may have at least shown a little spirit for my 60th, even a sparkler on dessert would have been nice for customer service and giving a little extra but not to be. A strawberry with the sparkling would have been great also. Overall, I did enjoy my lobster cooked with garlic and butter, but served more pub style with the chips and salad. My friend had the linguine pasta with prawns and she said that was a bit of a disappointment, lacking taste. It was supposed to have chilli but couldn't even taste it. I think I will find somewhere else by the beach.......
Food great, but the service was poor from one particular wait staff. Long wait for juices, though appreciate they are freshly juiced. Good flavoured coffee, but the milk wasn’t hot enough, so the drink itself was lukewarm. Definitely room for improvement.
Lovely setting unfortunately accoustically very noisey regardless of the building work still going on. Waiters very attentive. Menu exstentsive. Seafood board should be changed up a bit to not just have fried fish varieties and include some chips. Overall a good experience
I booked a table for my husband and I to celebrate his 60th birthday at The Blue Duck and we were greeted pleasantly before being seated at a lovely table outside overlooking the beautiful Cottesloe beach. Our food was very prompt in arriving as well as delicious, my husband enjoyed a glass of champagne with his breakfast and we enjoyed it all so much we decided to order extra drinks so we could sit in the sunshine a bit longer.
